The world of primates and the conservation of their habitat has been the life work of Jane Goodall. Here students can find out about Ms. Goodall’s life and her work in this fascinating field. The new section of the website, the “Jane Goodall Study Corner” has a biography of her life with a timeline of events. It contains information on her camp in the Tanzanian forest as well as her contributions to science. Check out the section on chimpanzees and their use of tools and listen to the chimpanzee calls.
Chimpanzee Central has everything you would want to know about chimpanzees - from their physical characteristics and habitats to their behavior and similarities to people. The site also relates the story of the “F” family, one of the most well-known and well-loved chimp families of the Gombe Stream Research Centre. Chimpanzee Central also covers the issues of chimpanzee conservation through reports on habitat loss, chimps in research, chimps as pets, entertainment chimps, and HIV found in chimps.
