Weaving the multigenre web

A lesson plan for Grades 9–12 English I, English II, English III, and English IV
Students analyze literature and create a multigenre project to be published on the Internet. After reviewing the elements of fiction, students meet in groups to select a novel they will read. Over the next few sessions, students discuss self-selected novels using the elements of fiction, reading journals, and assigned literature circle roles. Once students have finished their novel, the teacher introduces the concept of multigenre projects and provides several resources for students to use when completing the assignment. Students work together to create multigenre webs on student generated websites. The lesson plan provides several links to web resources that explain multigenre webs, literature circles, and creating websites.
