The grooviest of fabrics
In this Science Update, students explore the chemistry of the fabric polyester. Science NetLinks provides a link to the audio file, a written transcript, and questions that engage students in a discussion about how polyester was created, manufactured, and is used. The lesson plan also provides a link to “Whole Cloth: Discovering Science and Technology through American History” website from Lemelson Center for the Study of Invention/Innovation from the Smithsonian Institution.
