In this Xpeditions lesson, students explore different kinds of sharks and discuss the reasons why people are both afraid of and interested in sharks. Through several activities, they consider sharks' importance in nature and create brochures to educate beach visitors about sharks. Students participate in an online quiz in order to develop their knowledge and understanding of shark behavior. Xpeditions provides a list of all materials needed to complete this lesson and links to the Florida Museum of Natural History, PBS Online, and Sharks.org, which all provide information on the various types of sharks.
