A lesson plan for Grade 2 Social Studies
In this Xpeditions lesson, students explore the economic and cultural importance of rice in Asian communities. Activities in this lesson engage students in whole class discussion, small group collaboration, and online learning.
Students will:
- demonstrate an appreciation for the importance of rice as a cultural and economic product in Asia;
- describe the cycle of rice production;
- analyze agricultural production maps; and
- create calendars to measure the passage of time in the rice cycle.
