In this Xpeditions lesson, students explore how culture and experience influence people's perceptions of places and regions. Activities in this lesson engage students in online learning, collaborative group work, using graphic organizers, and creating an art piece.

Students will:

  • read about the life and work of photographer, Jimmy Chin;
  • describe adventure sports;
  • describe how Jimmy Chin brings his experiences into his work; and
  • describe how their own experiences affect their understanding of the world.

Xpeditions provides detailed directions for completing the lesson, suggestions for assessment and extension activities, discussion questions, and links to helpful web resources.
