A lesson plan for Grades 9–12 English Language Arts
This EDSITEment lesson plan introduces students William Faulkner's novel As I Lay Dying. Students consider the role of Addie Bundren, the effect she has on the other characters, and the impact created by Faulkner's use of multiple narrative perspectives on revelation of character and exploration of themes. This lesson incorporates primary source material from EDSITEment-reviewed websites and is part of the EDSITEment Curriculum Unit “Faulkner's As I Lay Dying: Form of a Funeral.”
