A lesson plan for Grades K–2 Mathematics
In this lesson, one of a seven-part unit from Illuminations titled “How Many More Fish?,” students apply what they know about comparison subtraction by constructing bar graphs and using them to answer questions. They conduct a survey to gather data and then complete a bar graph. They also use the data to generate a bar graph using a computer.

- Objective 4.01: Collect, organize, describe and display data using Venn diagrams (three sets) and pictographs where symbols represent multiple units (2's, 5's, 10's).
Kindergarten

- Objective 4.01: Collect and organize data as a group activity.
- Objective 4.02: Display and describe data with concrete and pictorial graphs as a group activity.
