There are over 40,000 members of the Lumbee Indian tribe living in Robeson, Hoke, and Scotland counties of North Carolina. Although recognized by the state of North Carolina, the Lumbee Indians are still trying to get recognition by the government of the United States.

This site provides information on the history of the tribe, a timeline of events, cultural information, and more.
