In this final lesson, students synthesize the concepts they explored in previous lessons. Students assemble a “Treasure Box” of items such as collages, writings, and more, all organized around Courage, Responsibility, Respect, Citizenship, Justice and Fairness, and Perseverance. After viewing a visual testimony from Robert Wagemann, students evaluate how the Holocaust relates to modern cases of mass discrimination and genocide. The introductory activity in this lesson engages students in critical reflection. Students also participate in whole group discussion, small group discussion, quote analysis, and project development.
