Using writing skills that displayed clear and complete ideas, 
students described the theme of the chosen work and then wrote a 
poem with an effective amount of detail to match that theme. 


Level 1 – Limited Performance
Using writing skills that displayed a minimal grasp of the concept 
of theme, students described the theme of the chosen work and then 
wrote a poem that only superficially matched the theme.
