Paving the Road to the Constitution This activity allows students to brainstorm important information and break it down into categories. Students work in small groups to brainstorm information and be able to place the information into the correct group. This activity works best when done on bulletin board paper. When the activity is over the information can be displayed in the classroom and used throughout the lesson. Example: Paving the Road to the Constitution PEOPLE PLACES EVENTS Draw a line between the categories and allow students to post the information on the chart with post-it notes. There should only be one idea per note. When the chart in complete hold a class discussion on the information it contains. Coach students through the discussion by highlighting information that may be more appropriate in another category from the one it is currently in or that may be irrelevant to the lesson. Place the chart in the classroom so that it will be easily visible to students throughout the study.
