Makes an effort to contribute, mostly through
nonverbal, gestural, or one-word comments. |

evident that student is lacking willingness to participate. Student
complies with teacher's wishes, but is not involved with group. |

Consistently stays focused on the task and what needs
to be done. Very self-directed. Very evident that student is listening and

the time. Teacher may sense frustration as the student tries to

Student's mind seems to wander and student may find
other objects or materials in his or her proximity more interesting than
what the teacher or other group members are saying. Student has difficulty
following directions because they are not listening or observing others.

inappropriate spacing, and shows little accuracy in copying; drawings are
very generic with not enough detail to show understanding of target

inappropriate, and little or no attention has been given to spelling words
accurately when copying; drawings are too messy or generic to have any
connection to target concept. |
