Stock board peg construction in Plimouth Plantation, Plymouth, Massachusetts. Plimouth Plantation is a living museum in Plymouth, Massachusetts. Created in 1947, it attempts to reconstruct the historic 1627 Plymouth Colony settlement using “historical interpreters” that dress, speak, and act out events in a manner true to the period. The museum was constructed according to what is known of the colony’s original plans. It is located near the dock of the Mayflower II, a replica of the original Mayflower ship used to transport the Pilgrims to the New World.
