A mountain climber scales an ice wall of the Lhotse Face on Mount Everest.

Sizes available: 1024×768 | 600×450

A group of mountain climbers scale an ice wall of Lhotse Face on Mount Everest. Leading the group is a bearded Ciprian “Chip” Popoviciu. He is wearing a red helmet, and sunglasses. With the help of a climbing device called “ascender” and taking advantage of foot holds bored into the ice wall, Chip is making his way up the Lhotse face. Note that the top part of Chip’s down suit is off to avoid overheating due to direct and ice reflected sunlight.
