Brightly colored banners hang on a wall behind the Rinpoche Lama in the Tengboche Monastery in Nepal. The Lama is seated with his legs crossed on a platform covered with a colorful cloth decorated with red and blue flowers. He is wearing the traditional dress of a red robe and a yellow skirt. A gold colored shawl is draped over his head and wraps around his body. He is placing a light yellow khata or traditional scarf around the neck of Ciprian Popoviciu, a mountain climber. Ciprian bows before the Lama, his palms joined showing respect. A wooden desk is between them. The windows of the room are covered with a light lacy fabric.
