Sizes available: 683×1024 | 333×500

Two round basket boats rest against young palm trees drying in an alley near Nha Trang. Discarded shells of coconuts line the path and several local people are standing at the end of the path.

These unusual small watercraft have neither speed nor stability, but they are lightweight, require no wood, and displace little water. They therefore can be easily carried and paddled in shallow water where larger boats cannot pass.
