Several market women squat by ducks and other wares in a side alley of Ho Chi Minh City’s Chinatown. They are working in a market alley with cement gutters where they use pails of water for cleaning items to be cooked or sold. Some work under a cloth umbrella, their plastic and metal work baskets and basins arranged conveniently around them.
