Rama's monkey troops build bridge to demon island (Thai Ramayanan mural at Emerald Buddha Temple)

Sizes available: 683×1024 | 333×500

Working at the seashore, Rama’s monkey troops build a stone bridge to Ravana’s demon island.

A black and a white monkey general wearing the royal clothes of their rank fly through the air transporting stones for the bridge. The white monkey general, flying downward, carries one large stone wrapped in his tail. He appears to be passing stones to the black monkey general who then passes them on to five grey monkey helpers below.

The grey monkey troops, dressed only in loincloths, work beneath the generals on the ground to assemble the beginnings of the stone bridge. Mountains are visible across the blue sea in the background.
