Hanuman battles fish taking stone from Rama's bridge (Thai Ramayana mural)
Hanuman fights a large fish who is taking a stone from Rama’s bridge to Lanka.
Hanuman stands on the green fish’s head as he pulls his upper jaw open to release the stone that the fish has seized from the bridge Rama’s allies were building to get to Lanka.
Hanuman holds the tip of his sword to the top of the fish’s head. Only the fish’s head and tail are visible above the water. Two smaller fish, one with a stone in its mouth, are visible in the foreground.
Wondering why the bridge to Lanka is not progressing quickly, Hanuman goes to investigate. He then finds the fish and other demon sea creatures sent by Ravana’s mermaid daughter to carry off the bridge’s stones.
