Hanuman grips head of demon (Thai Ramayana mural)
Hanuman triumphantly grips the head of a demon, as seen on a mural at the Emerald Buddha Temple.
Hanuman holds the hair of the demon’s severed head in his right hand while gesturing upward with his left arm. Hanuman has just cut off the demon’s head with his sword after it attacked him.
This scene takes place when Rama’s army finally reaches the demon Ravana’s island and they locate a beautiful spot in the middle of a desert. Sensing a trick, Hanuman goes underground where he finds and kills a demon waiting to attack them. When the demons are eradicated, Rama and Hanuman’s army have a safe place to camp.
