Story of Sita's son told to Rama at palace (Thai Ramayana mural)

Sizes available: 1024×683 | 600×400

The story of Sita’s son is told to Rama at the palace, as portrayed in a mural detail at the Emerald Buddha Temple.

Rama sits elevated on his palace veranda listening to Laksman and his other courtiers tell the story of how they only pretended to kill the pregnant Sita. Rama and Sita’s captured son Mongkut sits hunched next to Laksman while all the others kneel respectfully with their hands held in respectuful prayer position.

Once Mongkut is brought to the palace and tells Rama that he is his son, Rama is delighted to hear the news and know that Sita is still alive.
