In a lush green landscape, a temple remains carved into a stone mound at the Gunung Kawi site near Tampaksiring, Bali.
The memorial area, which dates from the 11th century C.E., is thought to be connected to the Balinese King Anak Wungsu and several of his wives. A set of tomb structures and related statues are carved into stone outcrops along a steep gorge by the Pakerisan River.
