Two women with large baskets on their heads stop by wet-rice fields

Size: 1024×686

Two Balinese women with large round baskets on their heads stop on a road by flooded wet-rice fields and houses.

The woman on the right crouches down in the road so that her basket can be adjusted by the woman standing on the left. The two women are walking to the market to sell the wares piled high in their headbaskets. As in other areas of Southeast Asia, women are prominently involved in outdoor market activities as well as farming tasks.
