Young boys carry bamboo poles with soldier figures at Independence Day parade

Size: 686×1024

Young boys carry bamboo poles mounted with soldier figures at Independence Day parade. The boy in front, who wears a red elementary school T-shirt, holds up a float showing an Indonesian revolutionary fighter. The constructed figure has long dark hair, a moustache, and red decorations on his uniform. Another float figure in back is throwing a rock, presumably at the Dutch who resisted Indonesians’ demands for Independence on August 17, 1945.
