Two tall bamboo pole offerings

Size: 686×1024

Two tall bamboo pole offerings, created for Saraswati Day, are decorated with plaited palm leaves. The pole decorations, seen waving in the blue sky, curve over at the tops of their poles.

Balinese use palm leaves, sticks, flowers and food to make a vast array of colorful decorations, many of which are created as temple or holiday offerings to please Balinese Hindu gods. These particular offerings were made to honor the annual day dedicated to Saraswati, Hindu goddess of Learning and Wisdom.
