Woman carries large sack of rice balanced on head

Size: 686×1024

Seen from behind, a young woman wearing a batik sarong and white blouse carries a large sack of rice balanced on her head. The woman is walking in sandals along the road and another couple is approaching from the distance.

The young woman carries a bag of newly harvested rice to and from a local rice mill so that her family does not have to remove the grain husks by hand with a mortar and pestle. Balinese women excel in carrying large loads that they transport balanced on top of their heads.
