This is an excerpt of live music played during a boxing match. The presence of live music to accompany boxing was common in Asia. As a white woman in a typically male venue, I always stood out at these types of sporting events.

From my journal:

Then walked 2K [kilometers] to boxing match in the rain. I get worried because it’s far out and dar, and barren. Match is fine. Lots of people watch me. Five matches — one early knock out, one draw. Kickboxing. I cringe, others cheer. Ate lots, from woman who let us stand under the tent while it was raining before the match.
