An old woman on her way to Muktinath, a Hindu pilgrimage site. Notice that her bag is slung on her back and also strapped across her forehead.

Muktinath, a temple built with 108 water spouts made to look like bull’s heads, is a sacred place both for Hindus as well as Buddhists. It is located at the foot of the Thorong La mountain pass in the Mustang district of the Himalayas. According to the pilgrims who travel here, washing one’s body in the freezing cold water that comes from the temple’s spouts cleanses away all sins.
