Machhapuchhare peak and rugged mountain sides on the foreground

Size: 675×1024

Machhapuchhare as seen from Poon Hill, Nepal. This peak stands 6993 meters tall and commands a tremendous vertical relief in a short horizontal distance.

Machhapuchhare is revered by the local population as particularly sacred to the god Shiva, and hence is off-limits to climbing.
