Irrigation water chanelled along a canal from nearby stream in Kaagbeni village, Nepal

Size: 694×1024

Flowing water from a nearby stream is channeled into a small canal to irrigate the terraced fields in Kaagbeni, Nepal.

It rarely rains in this region and therefore nearby streams and rivers — fed by snow melting in the mountains — provide the only source of water for both irrigation and household use.
