woman preparing to do laundry

Size: 768×524

A woman, preparing to do laundry, is seen pouring water in a wash tub in this black and white photograph taken during the Depression Era. Clad in a dress and apron, she is standing on her porch next to a low table on which two galvanized wash tubs are sitting. In front of the table is a straw laundry basket. On the floor, n to the basket, is a pile of items to be washed. Behind her is a frame door. A towel bar to the left of the door has a long cotton towel hanging from it. To the left of the wash tubs is a cupboard with various sized enameled bowls hanging on the outside.
