Size: 768×436

E. Whitley, a farmer of Stanly County, North Carolina is seen in this Depression era black and white photograph feeding his pigs. He is standing in his farmyard next to a trough from which his sow and her 11 piglets are eating. Wearing a long sleeved shirt and overalls, Mr. Whitley, with his hands clasped behind his back, is standing next to a small shed. His two story farmhouse and automobile can be seen in the background. A barn, which is in need of repair, can be seen on the left side of the photograph. A large barrel is propped up against it.
