Steep alley in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico

Size: 709×1024

Potted plants dot a narrow steep alley between two rows of house. On the right a low brick building sports a red-tiled roof.

Puerto Vallarta is a port town on Mexico’s west coast. It is a popular port of call for cruise ships and has developed a vibrant tourism industry. The town is celebrated for its constant tropical weather as well as its beaches and adjoining islands. Recently, pollution from inadequate city sewage capabilities has caused health problems with its coastal waters, leading to a downturn in tourism.
