Gringo Gulch in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico

Size: 709×1024

Three people walk down a narrow alley. A three-story stone building rises on the right. A wide-leafed green palm tree fills up the foreground.

Puerto Vallarta is a port town on Mexico’s west coast. It is a popular port of call for cruise ships and has developed a vibrant tourism industry. The town is celebrated for its constant tropical weather as well as its beaches and adjoining islands. Recently, pollution from inadequate city sewage capabilities has caused health problems with its coastal waters, leading to a downturn in tourism.

This area of town is called Gringo Gulch because since its incorporation it has been a popular residential area for North American tourists and emigrants.
