In this black and white photograph, eight boys and girls of various ages are eating lunch in their classroom. Two of the boys are standing and appear to be serving the other students. They sit on benches that seat two and dine on their desk. Many of the students have pails for transporting their lunch and all appear to be eating some sort of soup out of bowls with spoons. The teacher sits at the back of the room at her desk, eating lunch as well.
