Food makes a difference

This black and white photograph is of a poster showing how a good diet of nutritious foods makes a difference in children’s growing bodies. On the left of the poster is picture of a boy who is naked except for a towel wrapped around his waist. On the right is a picture of a naked little girl with her back to the camera. Between the images is a list of characteristics of a healthy body:

  • Bright eyes
  • Strong Teeth
  • Unobstructed breathing
  • Even shoulders
  • Flat shoulder blades
  • Broad chest
  • Straight back
  • Firm muscles
  • Flat abdomen
  • Straight legs
  • Normal joints
  • Strong arches

The bottom of the poster reads:

“Well-developed children, products of sleep and rest, exercise and play, fresh air and sunshine, correction of physical defects, and balanced diet.”
