Food helped make the difference
This black and white photograph of a poster shows images detailing children developing poorly due to malnourishment. The title is “Food Helped Make the Difference.” The top image is of five children from Vienna, Austria post World War II. They are all the same age, seven years old. Standing in a line facing the camera wearing only underpants, the child on the left is much taller than the others who show some sort of growth deformity. Below are two pictures, the one on the left shows a little boy described as “bulging forehead, flattened skull, pigeon breast, and pot bellied.” The photograph on the right is of two small children with deformities which include “enlarged joints, curved legs, and flat feet.”
