Call Box

Sizes available: 523×784 | 267×400

This photograph shows an oak cabinet with a glass front hanging on a wall. It was part of an elaborate servants call system. Beneath the glass on the cabinet are raised small arrows that pointed to the room from which the call originated. Battery-powered electric bells would ring to let the servants know that assistance was needed. The metal handle at the base of the box was used to reset the arrows.
