Call buttons

This photograph shows a servants’ call button station located on a dark paneled wall in Biltmore House. There are two round flat white buttons placed vertically on a metal, rectangular, wall plate. The top button has the words “Butler’s Pantry” printed on it. The bottom button has no words on it. By pushing one of the call buttons, a low-voltage circuit would run to one of the call boxes found in servants’ work areas throughout the house.
