A photographer shooting the sunrise at Clingman's Dome

Size: 1024×662

A photographer on Clingmans Dome focuses intently on a sunrise. Clingmans Dome is the second highest point in the eastern United States, trumped only by Mount Mitchell. It is located half in North Carolina and half in Tennessee, along the state line. The views from the mountain are fantastic. On clear days, it is possible to see for over 100 miles into the distance from the dome’s observation tower, but pollution unfortunately limits the average viewing distance to about 22 miles.
