Looking Glass Falls in Transylvania County, NC

Size: 678×1024

This is Looking Glass Falls in Transylvania County, North Carolina. Transylvania County is known as the “Land of Waterfalls” due to the fact that the county contains over 200 waterfalls. Looking Glass Falls flows from Looking Glass Rock, an enormous stone dome named for the fact that during the winter, water flowing down the sides of the rock freezes into ice, creating a glistening coating that makes the rock a “looking glass.”
