A white squirrel in Brevard, NC

Size: 800×601

This is a white squirrel in Brevard, North Carolina. Brevard is known for its unusually high percentage of white squirrels; there, roughly one in four squirrels is white. These squirrels are not albinos. Unlike albinos, they have normal melanin production and dark eyes. They can also be identified by the distinctive dark head cap pattern and dorsal markings of their coat.
