This is a “talking tree” in Holmes Educational Forest. Holmes is one of six Educational State Forests (ESFs) throughout North Carolina. The “talking tree” trails guide students and other visitors throughout the forest with information on flora and fauna, as well as information on how to protect and preserve them. Teachers can even use the space as an outdoor classroom with the help of an activity packet.
