Size: 800×531

At the right is the guitarist Doc Watson, a legendary flat picker despite his blindness. MerleFest is named in honor of his son, Merle, who died in a tractor accident. Merle was also a legendary guitarist. MerleFest features some of the world’s best bluegrass, folk, newgrass, and even rock musicians, including Bela Fleck, Emmylou Harris, and Nickel Creek, among hundreds of others.
