Jamming musicians at MerleFest in Wilkesboro, North Carolina

Size: 1024×686

These are musicians jamming by firelight at MerleFest in Wilkesboro, North Carolina. After seeing a bevy of incredible bands play in the daytime, musicians who have camped out for the night have the chance to play with one another.

MerleFest is named in honor of the legendary guitarist Doc Watson’s son, Merle, who died in a tractor accident. Merle was also a legendary guitarist. MerleFest features some of the world’s best bluegrass, folk, newgrass, and even rock musicians, including Bela Fleck, Emmylou Harris, and Nickel Creek, among hundreds of others.
