This is the view from Pilot Mountain in Surry County, North Carolina. Pilot Mountain is about 2,400 feet tall. In comparison to the Blue Ridge Mountains west of it, this is not very high, but in the context of its surroundings, the rolling hills of the Piedmont, it stands tall.
