This is a red-tailed hawk at the Queens Cup Steeplechase in Union County. He was rescued by the Carolina Raptor Center after being hit by a car. The Raptor Center maintains volunteers in every nearby county, including Union, to pick up the injured birds and deliver them to the clinic.
