Boats head toward shore in Oriental, North Carolina. Oriental is the largest town in Pamlico County. It is known by some as the “Sailing Capital of North Carolina.” Today, over 2,000 sailboats dock here, as well as a handful of fishing boats. It is also a popular vacation and retirement spot.
