North Carolina in the World is a statewide collaborative effort to strengthen K–12 international education. At the request of Gov. Mike Easley, the University of North Carolina’s Center for International Understanding (NCCIU) coordinates the effort. More than 100 North Carolina education, policy and business leaders are involved to help prepare students to thrive in the global marketplace of the twenty-first century. This resource center, available through LEARN NC, brings together hundreds of excellent web-based resources for teaching and learning about the countries and peoples of the world. The collection can be searched by region, appropriate grade level, or the type of media desired (such as images or video).
